Free stabling offered to overseas horses arriving for Dubai Racing Carnival  Sep 20, 2023

Overseas runners competing in the forthcoming Dubai Racing Carnival will be offered free stabling in the International Quarantine Stables, organisers Dubai Racing Club announced Wednesday.

The ‘new look’ Carnival comprises 14 meetings that will be staged at Dubai’s marquee Meydan Racecourse between 10 November and 8 March, 2024.

And Dubai Racing Club are pleased to announce stabling at its International Quarantine Stables will be free for overseas runners. Further incentives, including travel, will be decided by a special committee on a horse-by-horse basis, with stable staff staying in the quarantine facilities required to pay a fee of AED1000 per month (US$272).

These incentives are in addition to the new $4 million (AED14.69m) Dubai World Cup Bonus Race Scheme that guarantees starting places at the Dubai World Cup meeting to the winners of the nine qualifying races that fall under the purview of the scheme. The bonus – 10 per cent of the prize money for the corresponding race on the Dubai World Cup card – will be paid if the horse wins both the qualifier and its Dubai World Cup night assignment.

Major General Dr Mohammed Essa Al Adhab, Executive Director of Dubai Racing Club, commented: “We’re really excited about our new-look season. The new programme is aimed at encouraging owners and trainers to base their horses here throughout the winter, allowing them to make use of our five star facilities and wonderful climate.”

The Dubai Racing Carnival precedes the $30.5million Dubai World Cup meeting, which takes place on Saturday, 30 March, 2024.
