Too Darn Hot filly brings Sheikh Hamdan first-ever Japan success Sep 25, 2023

The royal silks of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum were carried to victory for the first time ever in Japan on Saturday by Etes Vous Prets, who shed her maiden tag on the third ask for trainer Kenichi Fujioka.

First season Darley sire Too Darn Hot’s only Japanese runner so far, Etes Vous Prets, a grey 2yo filly, had finished second in her first two runs, but found the luck she needed on her third try as she remained prominent throughout the 1200m contest at Hanshin and powered home to win by two lengths.

Bred by Godolphin, Etes Vous Prets is a daughter of Group 1 Falmouth Stakes heroine Nahoodh and a half-sister to the Stakes winner Hawkesbury.

Champion juvenile Too Darn Hot’s first crop of runners continue to impress and he has now sired 17 individual winners. Amongst this number are the best two fillies in Great Britain or Ireland in Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes heroine Fallen Angel and Group 2 May Hill winner Darnation.
